BOTULINUM TOXIN (BOTOX/DYSPORT)
What is it?
It is a drug made from a neurotoxin produced by a bacteria, Clostridium botulinum. It is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles.
How long do the effects last?
You will start seeing an effect after 3-7 days with maximum effect after two weeks. The time it lasts differs from person to person but minimally 3 months up to 6 months.
Is it safe?
It is completely safe with the dosages we administer and allergic reactions are extremely rare. All care is taken to minimize potential adverse affects.
Areas treated?
Most commonly the upper face i.e. the forehead, frown lines (angry face) and eye lines. The area around the mouth and chin can also be treated if indicated. One can also very effectively treat TMJ problems/clenching/grinding. Botulinum Toxin is also an extremely effective measure to treat hyperanhydrosis (excessive sweating) in men, particularly.
Does it hurt?
We use the smallest thinnest possible needles to minimize discomfort. For most woman the experience is very bearable and not unpleasant. Very little post procedure discomfort is experienced.
DERMAL FILLERS
What is it?
It is an injectable product consisting of hyaluronic acid, naturally found in a persons body. Dermal fillers are a clear liquid injected into the skin to help diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness to the face.
How long are the effects?
Depending on the area and filler used 6-18 months. Dermal fillers get absorbed by the body over time.
Is it safe?
We only use naturally-derived fillers (most widely known as hyaluronic acid) which have a very small risk of causing an allergic reaction. Fillers also have risks of lumping and migration, although this is an infrequent complication.

Dermal fillers can be used to add volume and smooth out the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth (called nasolabial folds)
